New Ways, New Life,
New Ministry

Schild von Mühldorf am Inn
(Muehldorf upon Inn in Bavaria/South Germany)

Sometimes, God leads the most weird ways...! Who would have thought that Andreas and I would one day end up living in Muehldorf upon Inn?! But God opened doors where nobody would have imagined...

After Andreas was invited by the Gospel Church in Vilsbiburg (that is a small town near Muehldorf) in December 2005 to give a lecture, we went there both thus meeting part of that church and their fellowship. Right away, we felt well with them and we also learned that they went toward a restructuring of their church. We were interested in this but not too deeply, as it didn't concern us as we thought.

So we were totally surprised when sometime mid Januray this year, that pastor phoned us asking whether we could imagine taking part in their project - means, relocating to Bavaria! He said that for a 4th group they were planning to start in Muehldorf, they were still lacking a leading pastor. His vision was to take the gospel of Jesus everywhere there is a yellow town sign (which on Germany streets means towns from a size a bit bigger than just a small village up to very big towns). Andreas and I decided to go there again in order to get to know more about everything: to have closer talks with the pastor and some people of that church, to have a closer look at the area, especially Muehldorf and to see what kind of chances we would have there.

We had the impression that this was really God opening us doors for us - almost everything went so smooth! We don't have that much money to be able to rent whatever house or appartment. But all of a sudden, we were offered several appartments to fit our financial capacities. Even more: in Hamburg, we lived in a not at all appealing appartment of a house in a very bad shape, in an area that you most probably would not chose for yourself. This made the rent cheap for Hamburg's circumstances. Here in Muehldorf, we were shown appartments much bigger, nicer, renovated, in ok areas and for rents that we were paying up to that time. And also additional side jobs were not difficult to find here.

And we experienced something that was at least the same as important: people wanted us to be here! They did whatever was in their might to make us feel welcome. So Andreas and I went back to Hamburg with a whole bunch of thoughts in our baggage! After many talks and prayers we had the certainty that this is really our way. Then we got a phonecall with the query whether we would like to move into this one appartment that we had looked at; the owner would like to have us as tenants. Then a next phonecall came for Andreas asking when we would be coming as there was a job waiting for him!

The moment we dediced to go, we received even more signs: the official engagement at this church would start April 1st. Also the contract of our appaartment would start April 1st, but we were allowed to move in about 2 weeks earlier without payment. The contract for our Hamburg appartment ended by the end of March, but we were allowed to leave about 2 weeks earlier without payment either until the end of the contract. This and more were signs to us that this was indeed God's plan for our future life!

And so we began organizing our removal. Also in this, everything went smooth. Our Vineyard Church in Hamburg stood very lovingly at our side, they blessed us with everybody praying for us and after a completely chaotic loading, Siegfried drove our rented moving truck down to Muehldorf, while Andreas and I drove in our own car that was packed up to the ceiling and with our birdies. After an overnight stay at some friends' house, they were the first to stay at our new appartment:

Here you see them sitting a bit alienated in their cage...

... then, after a while, it looked like this!

In the meantime, it's almost ready!

The birdies have conquered their place again
and enjoy flying around loudly chirping!

Some days ago, we were able to watch this beautiful sunset from our balcony! I simply held the digicam into its direction, so I guess the little blue spot in the center must be the hottest part of the sun.

And this is the beautiful city place of Muehldorf:

This is Old Downtown from above.

Once a month we meet with all four groups for a joint church service in the church building in Vilsbiburg. The other three sundays, we meet here in Muehldorf for our own services. When we met for the first time, we even had guests! That slightly reminds me of the first church in Acts 2:47, where it says, "And the Lord added to their number daily..."!

God has even given us another miracle: although we didn't get started yet completely, He has caused someone to offer us rooms for a rent that is ridiculous indeed - it won't cost us more than a small symbolic sum! This is THE proof for me that God wants us to do just this! We have a great understanding with those few people who belong to our still small group; we practically have the same chruch doctrines. This is utterly important when striving for something big! Sometime before we were asked to come here, there were prophecies spoken to the people here that God wants to give revival in this area. And I have heard now from some friends of faith that by prayer, they were given the certainty that this new way is the way of God for us and our new ministry. Now we are praying for God to bring completely to reality this verse of Acts 2:47, "And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved,"!!!!!
