The Way Into His Presence
Today's message is from Joyce Strong, May 25, 2008

People who bear His name must know the way into His presence well and travel it daily, forgetting life’s demands and the expectations of others, content to sit at His feet. This is critical—not optional. If we can’t find His love, if we’re at a loss as to how to give Him our own in worship, we are in deep trouble. Nothing we will ever try to give in ministry can rival in importance or significance the ability to find His presence.

Christians who forget how to find Him in personal worship—who are too busy performing—will never bear fruit that remains. Those who speak His name but abide only in the land of urgent service will fall into despair long before a single godly goal is reached.

We cannot live without Him, without being able to grab hold of His love, without knowing how to tuck ourselves away in the secret place at a moment’s notice. We cannot endure to the end without living by the strength of His life freely reigning within us.

We are nothing without Him. Granted, with Him we are like grass and the flower that fades, but we are breathing holy breath and given eternal life—unconditional gifts from God! How wonderful!

But without experiencing the love that awaits us in His presence we suffer immeasurable torture. To know Him from a distance is harder than if we’d never met Him at all! We know what we’re missing, and it will eventually break our hearts.

TODAY'S PRAYER:

Lord, don’t let me be content to go through the motions of serving You. I don’t want to settle for anything less than a face-to-face relationship with You.
