Here we have
Yeimi Caterine Saltana Camacho,
she is still looking for sponsors

Yeimi was born September 9, 1992.

My name is Yeimi and I am almost 14 years old. My mom's name is now Angelika - this is what I have decided when I came here to Mercy Mission in September 2005. Before then, I was living on the road for some time. I went home only to sleep. Very often, my grandmother has beaten me and an uncle abused me sexually. On the road, I once met a woman who believed in God. She brought me to Angelika. But this encounter frightened me at first. I had to think of the governmental institutions and so I ran away. But a few days later, I was thinking it over again. The people here were really nice and I also liked the house. So I came back to them. After some weeks, there was a problem and secretly, I ran away again. Yet then, I took a decision. I said to myself that I will be staying here as there is nowhere I am better off.

Very often, I think of the times I spent on the road with my mom. She was addicted to drugs and sniffled glue. When she was high, she was beating me for nothing. In order to have money for food, she sent me to have sex with different men. Often we had not enough to eat. When I asked her for it she beat me. I was yearning so much for true love, for someone I could talk with. But there was nobody. When thinking of it today, I get sad and angry. Sometimes I'd only want to die. Two years ago, my mom ran onto the road being full of drugs. She was hit by a bus and died. For a long time, I didn't want to realize she was really dead. In my dreams, I can still see her sometimes. Then I get angry with God for having taken my mom away. I was only two years old, when my dad was murdered. Now, I don't have anybody. Yet slowly I am learning that all of this was best for me and that God is not guilty for my mom's death. She always ran away from Him and didn't want to have to do with Him.

Now I'm having a very normal life and there are people who love me. I can attend school and there's enough to eat every day! I have also learned that prayer is very helpful. I tell my new mom regularly about my life. Afterwards, we pray together and then I feel a lot better!

Yeimi is very intelligent...

... beautiful and romantic.
Sometimes, she is very thoughtful about what she had gone through in her former life and weeps when nobody is watching...

But she is also a very people going person and likes to laugh. Here you see her with Angie. Daisy is in the background.

With Erika and one of the twins.

With Ingrid

... and here with Yuli.

Thank you for all help, Yeimi Caterine
