Following the assassination of Benazir Bhutto, a US Senator said, in reference to Islam verses the rest of the world, that what we are witnessing now is a “clash of civilizations”. That maybe true from a humanistic, political perspective, but it is not so from a spiritual perspective. What we are witnessing from a spiritual perspective is – the sons of Satan against the sons of God; the kingdom of Satan against the kingdom of God.

It is true that what is currently happening involves politics and civilizations, but it is not the reason for the chaos and murder that the sons of Satan are creating as they endeavour to rid the world of born again disciples of Christ and all traces of Jesus Christ.

Yet, it is only those born again disciples of Christ who will overcome in this battle; Christendom’s religious will not! Christendom, in all its religious pomposity, stands no chance in this battle. Religion, the main emphasis in Christendom, will not win on this battlefield! All those who claim allegiance to the major denominations of Christendom need to be “born again” and enter into the kingdom of God alone if victory over the sons of Satan is to occur.

Mere church members need to abandon Christendom’s religiosity inherited from their parents and return to the fundamentals contained in the Word of God and seek to be filled, led, empowered and anointed with the Holy Spirit if this spiritual battle is to be won.

This battle began in the Garden of Eden where God stated that the sons of Satan would rage against the sons of God. Genesis 3:15, “And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her seed: he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.” Later it was confirmed again in Genesis 16:10-12 when Abram’s illegitimate son to Hagar was prophesied to one day become an immense nation which would rage against every man. Genesis 16:12 “And he shall be as a wild ass among men; his hand shall be against every man, and every man’s hand against him; and he shall dwell over against all his brethren.”

The sons of Satan also are from among the religious Hebrews in Jesus’ day and from among Christendom's religious today. Jesus spoke of the religious leaders of His race as the sons of Satan, John 8:31-59. He left no room for doubt about this matter as is clearly seen in verse 44, “You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father it is your will to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and stands not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own: for he is a liar, and the father thereof.” Also Paul wrote to Timothy warning him of the times when the Christian “religious” would only adhere to a form of religion and deny the power thereof, 2 Timothy 3:1-7. Then there is John’s pronouncement of ongoing spiritual warfare against the born again sons of the kingdom of God, which has been ongoing since Christ sat down at the right hand of the Father, received all authority in heaven and earth and cast Satan out, Revelation 12:7-17.

Let’s not be fooled into accepting the humanistic, political description of what is happening in our nations, cities, towns, schools, work places, governments, churches and next door. Satan is busy; not only sending out his seducing spirits to spread his demonic doctrines through the proclamation of Islam, but also through the man-made, denominational, religions of Christendom, I Timothy 4:1-3.

Humanistic politics will not deliver anyone from this spiritual war – only the faith of believers who have repented, confessed Jesus as their Saviour, Lord, Teacher, Master, and been immersed and raised together with Him in His resurrection life through faith in the working of God, (Romans 6:2-4; Colossians 2:12), will overcome in this life and the life to come.

Therefore we need to take account of our spiritual state. Are we truly born again of the water and the Spirit, (John 3:1-6, 1 John 5:1-12)? If not, then we need to be if we are to overcome the sons of Satan in these last days.
