News: Pyongyong - Around 200.000 Christians are suffering in Northkorean prison camps, as Carl Möller, president of Open Doors in Santa Ana, Ca. pointed out. Many of them are being tortured and even killed. Escaped prisoners have protested for freedom in their country before the Whitehouse. As to Möller, "Freedom for North Korea", a week held each year by a coalition of Organizations will increase the prayer for this country suffering under Socialism and the international pressure on the North Korean Government.

For the fourth time in a row, Open Doors has listed North Korea Number One on their list of persecuted Christians (World Watch List 2006). Möller called North Korea "a huge concentration camp, where the whole population is being kept imprisoned like a never ending nightmare." He called on all Christians to pray for their sufferning brothers and sisters in this socialist country. .

As to official data, only 12.000 Christians are living among the 23 million population in North Korea. Yet assumptions by religious statistics talk of far more than 400.000 Christians in the underground.
