Laura Yolanda Castro Patiño
went home

Laura (with green trousers) on the day of her baptism in October 2005

Monday, November 11, 2005 at 10pm, Laura went home after a long and severe illness. She is the girl who got baptized only some weeks ago. After a wrong diagnosis (read "News & Prayer Requests"), another physician found out about her bone lupus which was very painful. It was topped by skin tubercolosis. Her fingers swell and got infected in her palms. In her last days, some viruses infected her kidneys and lungs. Saturday, November 12, her lungs filled with water. On sunday, she had to be connected to a breathing machine and was artificially nurtured. At night, she fell into a coma of which she did not wake up anymore.

On November 10, Laura had her 16th birthday. About 2 weeks ago, I (Angelika) had the impression of God wanting to take her home... The funeral took place wednesday, November 15, 2005.

Laura was an orphan. Yet she had some brothers and sisters. One of her brothers, together with his wife, was very sad. Also another family member attended the funeral. Other family members are completely at odds with each other and did not attend. They also feared they would have to pay everything. The funeral costs have been shared though by our church members here in Colombia. But there are still some US$ 340,00 missing for the hospitalization.

Please pray for God's comfort for our kids, who are very sad, and also for the
family. Pray for people to come to faith, as you never know when your turn will be.

Laura takes the obedience step...

... and gets baptized! It was her biggest desire to be part of the praise & worship team of
our church. Now she is praising the Lord right infront of His throne!
