Here he is telling his story:
My name is Jhon Freddy. I am 15 years old. When I was 3 years of age, my dad was murdered by a killer in a very dangerous area of Bogotá. Stabbed with a knife. While he broke down, my sister and I ran for our lives. There was a Christian School nearby. They opened their doors to us, otherwise we would not be alive today.

My mom is a drug addict. She is doing a rehab right now in the city of Medellín.

We used to live in another establishment, outside of Bogotá. Yet they had to close down because of financial reasons. This is how I came to Mercy Mission in September 2005. I like it here a lot. I can go to school and am in grade 7 now. There is also enough food here and I have nice clothings.

Yet sometimes, I feel very lonely amidst all these other boys. Sadness and pain fills my heart for the loss of my family. Then I get very angry and would like to take revenge on the guy who killed my dad.

I'm joining a small group for teenagers. There I have a leader who also visits me personally and with who I pray together asking God to help me forgive in order to heal completely and become free.

I love playing soccer and if it were possible, I'd have pizza with ham and pineapple every day!
