My name is Laura Camila. On December 31st, 2005 my mom was killed by her lover. She had about 10 different lovers. My dad was her first man. She was not loyal to him. I also have a younger half sister who lives with my aunt.

After mom's death, I came into the family of my dad, who in the meantime lived together with another woman. We didn't get along at all, she and I. Very often, we were fighting. So my father decided to give me into an institution. I sensed that his new family was more important to him than I was. That hurt me deeply. Even today, when I think of this, I have to cry. But I didn't want to stay with that family, either.

Now I am here with Mercy Mission for a year already and most of the time, I enjoy it. I still have to learn a lot, since with my mom, I spent almost all of the time on the road and could do whatever I pleased. Now, I feel angry if someone tries telling me what I have to do. Most of all, I enjoy dancing, listing to music and being lazy.

I call Angelika my mom, and I am glad whenever my dad phones me. Often, I feel sad as I don't have a family who cares for me. Then I think that I am not worth anything. I often talk about my mother. I like remembering the good things we had together. She was good to me. Men were her weakness, which is why she often neglected us. We often had brutality, sex and fightings at home and I just knew that one day sooner or later, one of these guys would kill her.
