PRAYER ALERT: So sad to mention yet another prayer alert... In Indian Orissa state, extremists demand of government to stop all Christian activities. If not done so by mid December, they threaten to bring the state to a complete hault by a strike of transport and commerce on December 25.
But as to Matthew 24, where Jesus predicts severe persecution on one hand, He also predicts a global spreading of the gospel. And this time, God used Luís Palau and his son who both held a huge evangelization in Southern Mexico where 150,000 joined!

Here is some sad news: Pastor Paul Ciniraj, founder and director of Salem Voice Ministries (they are part of our Ministries section) resigned from his leadership due to health reasons. Pastor Paul was healed from leukemia but the hard medical treatments now have caused a liver cirrhosis. I ask you to take him and his family into your prayers, for complete healing and also for financial help, since as of now they don't have any income and the medical treatments have caused a financial crisis.

Shortly before the Olympics, China hasn't complied with any regulation concerning human rights and freedom for foreign journalists. Openly, the government is ridiculing the whole world. In the run-up to the Games, a Beijing Christian bookstore owner, who was imprisoned 4 months ago, is deteriorating healthwise, no help being given to him.

This here is indeed some fantastic news about what God is doing: In La Plata, close to Agentina's capitol Buenos Aires, there is a prison full of Christians! Well, not that Christians would have done something to get in there, but prisons from all over the country are sending their inmates there, who while serving their prison terms have given their lives to Jesus! Several years ago, I have met the pastor whom God used in initiating this! It is simply amazing!

Happy Easter! To me, the greatest thing of all is that because of Jesus' resurrection I know what is going to happen with me after I die. This is something I am really looking forward to!!!
This year, the Easter season is a special one as on one hand, it is as early as it wasn't in almost 100 years and on the other hand, Good Friday falls together with the Jewish Purim celebration, which commemorates the voctory over their enemies as to the Scripture book of Esther. This evening at 16:58 sundown, Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, will beginn in Jerusalem, ending tomorrow at 18:12. During this time, nobody will eat nor dring, but will pray. The whole traffic is at a stand still, also the international airport is closed and will only resume traffic on Saturday, at 21:30. All shops and restaurants are closed, no radio nor television will be airing. There will be only some permanent words on the screens, desiring for all citizens to be written well in the Book of Life by God. So the editorial of Israel Today (left, German version, translated) wishes atonement with God and a blessed new year for all its readers.
